KS5: 2017 A Level Summary

A Level results this year are very impressive indeed. The % of A and B grades has increased from 44% in 2016 to 50% in 2017, with the pass rate very similar to last year. In value-added terms, using the ALPS system, our performance has improved from 2016 across all indicators.

We had our largest ever Year 13 cohort this year with 189 students. 123 (65%) of these have accepted places at university for 2017 or 2018 entry, 38 (20% of the cohort) of which are at Russell Group universities. Particular congratulations go to Callum Bateson, Anya Briggs, Chris Cook and Eve Park with 2A*1A grades at A Level. Callum will take up a place to study mathematics at Bath, Anya will take up a place at Manchester to study Chemistry, Chris will study Chemistry at Lancaster and Eve will study Industrial Design and Technology at Loughborough. Will Atkinson (1A*2A) secured his place on the Law Foundation Year at Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford.
