Aspiring Engineers

Sixth form Aspiring Engineers have been working in groups to investigate the feasibility of battery powered cars through a series of workshops, lectures and group sessions. Students presented their findings to Science teacher Mr Menadue, who leads the enrichment, and professional engineer (and Ripley parent) Mr Marc McBride, who has generously given up his time to support them. Congratulations to the winning team, comprising of Year 12 students Alex Fishwick, Alex Cliff, Joe Preece and Sam Pugh.

Aspiring Engineers is one of three careers academies in the sixth form, designed to give students knowledge, skills and experience to support them with future university and apprenticeship applications.
